From Edgecombe Co., NC Court Minutes 1744-1762, Book I

1)  [247]  "Present  AQUILA SUGG, BANJN. HART, WILLA. BRYANT
Justices."  "Ordered that the Estate of THOMAS HOWEL Decd. be
apprais'd & divided between JOSEPH HOWEL, MARY the Wife of WM.
MAUND, MURFRY & MARTHA HOWELL, the legal representatives of sd.
Decdt. & that WM. HAYWOOD, BENJN. BUNN, JNO. DREW, HENRY BOND &
JOSEPH HART or any three being duly Qualify'd to Divide the same
& return &c."

[This gives us the maiden name of WM. MAUND's wife MARY, as well
as her father and siblings.  From this there's no way to tell if
the MARTHA mentioned was sister or wife of MURFRY.   I could be
mistaken but feel she is wife of MURFRY.   See entry 6.]

2)  [282]  "On Mocon [motion?] of WM. CUMMING Atto. on the Behalf
of AQUILA SUGG a Person appointed the Executor of the last Will &
Testament of WM. MAUND Deced. who came into Court & pray'd that
he might prove the Will of sd. MAUND he having his Evidence
in Court to prove sd. Will, At which Time JAMES CARY Atto. for
the Wido. of sd. WM. MAUND pray'd the sd. Will might not be
proved till next Court she having Witnesses to Testifie agt. the
Validity of the sd. Will.  The Court over ruled the Motion of the
sd. WM. CUMMING and Ordered the Matter lye over for further
hearing.

3)  [290]  "On Motion made for the Probat of the last Will &
Testament of WILLAM MAUND Deceased.  Exhibited into Court the
last Term by the Executors therein named whereupon JAMES CARY
Attorney offer'd a Caveat on Behalf of the Widow of said MAUND
against the Probat of said Will, Order'd the sd. Caveat be
Received.

Wonder what this dispute was about, considering the family
relationship with AQUILA SUGG.

4)  [293] -21.  "The Last Will and Testament of WILLIAM MAUND
Deceased who Exhibited into Court by one the the Executors
therein Named & proved by the Oaths of JAMES BOAZMAN, DAVID MOTE
& MURFREY HOWELL the subscribing Witness's thereto and at the
same time AQUILA SUGG Esq. one of the Executors by sd. Will
appointed Quallified according to Law.  MARY MAUND, Wido. &
Relict of WM. MAUND Deceased is appointed Guardian to HARDY
MAUND, Infant & orphan of said WM. MAUND Decasd. (sic) and that
she be bound in the Sum of 1,000 pounds Proc. and gave for
Securities JOSEPH HOWELL & SAML. RUFFIN.  (Bond given)."

on Oath by the Exor... Ordred that MARY MAUND Relict Widow of WM.
MAUND Deced. be sumon'd to the next Court to give an Acct. of
what she has in her hands of the Estate of the sd. WM. MAUND."

but was a different court matter.]
"An Inventory of the Estate of MATHA (sic) [Martha?] HOWELL an
Infant orphan of JOSEPH HOWELL Decd. Exhibited & Ordred to be
Recorded."  [Was this a niece of Mary Howell Maund's?]

I did not find it in the pages I just scanned but prior to his
death, WM. MAUND was sheriff in Edgecombe County.  These pages I
had copied off and have entered excerpts as found.

I think we can conclude without a doubt that WILLAM MAUND (son of
PRISCILLA) only had the one child HARDY.   WILLIAM MAUND's will
was dated 2-7-1761.
